SUMMARY:Barbeque and Networking- where every flame tells a story
DESCRIPTION:The WZCC Toronto Chapter organized a barbeque-cum-networking event on Saturday 8 th June\n2024 at the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario in Toronto. The overall event feratured several\nactivities like fun games\, informal networking and sumptous barbeque dinner featuring both\nvegetarian and non-veg delicacies and witnessing a grand turnout of 62 members from across\nthe community.\nThe event commenced with formal registration process where each attendee was given a name\ntag so that other attendees can recognize them and learn more about them as individuals and\nwhat they do professionally. The informal networking during registration set the tone for the\nevening\, transitioning into the first segment of the evening- Speed Networking. The second\nsegment was something many attendees had heard and participated in for the first time and was\nhailed as the best part of the evening- Human Bingo. ‘Attendees were given 25 minutes to\ncomplete this activity and the one to complete it first won a special prize sponsored by WZCC\nToronto Chapter. There was also a door prize giveaway\, the winner for which was chosen by\nspinning a wheel of numbers.\nThe final segment was the one that everyone had been waiting for- the barbeque dinner which\nwas enjoyed by one and all. Informal networking once again took precedence where the\nattendees discussed a little more about some potential business ideas and how they can leverage\nthe WZCC platform to launch and promote their ideas while devouring the burgers and tandoori\nchicken\, fresh off the grill.\nOverall\, all the members who attended the event had a gala time and everyone is excited for\nfuture events as well as the biggest event hosted by the Toronto Chapter- the WZCC Conclave\n2025 to be held in the vibrant city of Toronto from April 29 th – 3 rd May 2025. \nOur Lovely Chefs \n \n  \nSpeed Networking underway \n \nThe Lucky Draw prize winner receiving a wireless Bluetooth speaker from\nDilnavaz Shroff\, Global Director and Cyrus Patel\, Chapter Chair and Director.

SUMMARY:Program – Insurance “Transfer of Risks & Risk Mitigation”
DESCRIPTION:14th August 2018 \nDear Members\, \nWorld Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce (WZCC) provides its members\, among many other services\, an opportunity to learn how to manage various aspects of their finances. This Program guides a person to understand why Insurance is such an important component of financial planning. \nInsurance is a way of managing risks. When a person buys insurance\, the cost of a potential loss is transferred to the Insurance Company in exchange for a fee\, known as premium. Insurance Companies invest funds securely\, so it can grow and pay out when there is a claim. There are various types of insurance besides life insurance – businesses including coverage for property damage\, legal liabilities and employee related risks\, etc. \nToday business is full of Risks and it is very important to transfer Risks so that those in business could totally concentrate on the core business\, with the assurance that both tangible and intangible Risks are transferred and would not hit the Balance Sheet. Today transference of Risks is a complicated legal process and hence\, the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority has introduced Insurance Brokers to the Market\, very much akin to the Developed Countries where a Company or an Individual is always in touch with the Insurance Brokers and never with the Insurance Company. Mr. Maneck Dastur will appraise WZCC members on nuances wherein they can venture into large business without apprehension or fear of Fortuitous\, Force Majeure and Legal Liability losses. He will also speak on why\, most of the Insurance Policies should be structured as per the needs of the Company rather than acceptance of pre-fabricated policies of the Insurance Companies. \nThis program will be conducted by Mr. Maneck Homi Dastur\, who has more than 4 decades of experience in the Insurance Sector handling both Marketing and Technical assignments. He is the General Manager with\nK.M. Dastur Reinsurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. He has been instrumental in developing and structuring Direct and Reinsurance business. K.M. Dastur Reinsurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. has 14 offices in India\, 12 offices abroad and are Lloyds Brokers at London\, U.K. They specialize in marketing and structuring covers for Special Contingency\, Event Insurance\, Legal Liability and Group Health Insurance Schemes. \nDetails of the program are – \n\n\n\nDate\n:\nFriday\, 31 August 2018.\n\n\nVenue\n:\nKilachand Conference Room\, IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry\,\nIMC Building\, IMC Marg\, Churchgate\, Mumbai 400 020\n\n\nTimings\n:\n6.00 p.m.to 6.30 p.m. – Registration\n6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. – Program (includes tea/coffee/snacks break)\n8.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. – Q&A Session.\n\n\n\n  \nThe participation fees for this Program will be Rs.450/- for members and Rs.600/- for non-members. \nhe participants are requested to confirm their attendance with Ms. Zarine Khan / Ms Aban Mistry on\nTel.
