Some experts argue that AI will lead to mass unemployment, leading to massive social unrest; while other experts are of the opinion that adoption of AI will lead to the emergence of new jobs. One thing is for sure, technology skews the income distribution and creates, what economists call, a ‘winner-takes-all-market’. And, when skills don’t keep pace with technology the end-result is inequality. Would the growing use of AI mean that most humans will survive only on Universal Basic Income and just eke out a living?
