Strategic Plan Chart 2022-24. To encourage innovation and encourage participation from those who are yet to participate I suggest that we recognize regional differences and the diverse interests of WZCC Chapters in the regions. Accordingly, with the aim of fostering inclusivity, that is, participation by youth, women and seniors I offer the following for your consideration.
T1- PROMOTE CREATION OF INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC VALUE
In order to have all round development of youth, Intellectual, Economic and Social values is a must.
a. INTELLECTUAL (ZFN) – Encourage youngsters to do higher studies, give them scholarships and assist in admission to Renowned universities and mentor them in their progress.
b. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (WZCC)- In recent times WZCC has funded several young entrepreneurs and professionals through BAC in India and ZEDF in North America. Once a year we have TIGER’S DEN for Equity funding. I suggest that this initiative be continued and expanded further.
I recommend that the ZEDF scholarships be enhanced to encourage our youth to pursue graduate studies in entrepreneurship. We need to encourage entrepreneurs in industry, academia, and profession. Seniors to come forward and mentor our youth and guide them on the path to success as entrepreneurs. We have enough expertise to do so.
c. SOCIAL VALUE – We worship all natural resources like water, agriculture, and environment in general because without a green planet we will be destroyed in years to come. We do not want our future generations to remember us for that!! I suggest that the WZCC explore how it could further social and environmental causes.
T2 – YOUTH TO THE FORE
Power of youth driving future generation is our theme for next 3 years at least. Youth have a big role to play in progress of WZCC. I suggest that a task force be appointed to identify how the WZCC might better involve potential youth entrepreneurs in WZCC activities.
To progress we need a sustained growth plan for the future. It is in our interest that a youth panel be formed to see sustained growth in youth activities keeping the WZCC objectives in mind.
The term of the current International Youth Director ends in 2023 I suggest that we empower the youth in our community to caucus and identify the International Youth Director by the time we meet in London in 2023.
We are in the process of each chapter nominating a Youth Director. Once this exercise is complete we will form a youth group and guide them for promoting youth related activities. It is also proposed that this youth group will choose their own international Director amongst themselves one for India and one for overseas. Our slogan Power of Youth Driving Future Generations has to be fulfilled and this will be a good beginning towards that.
We will continue and promote Spotlight interviews through ZFN and Social Media .
T3 – WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT
Gender Equality is very important, and I encourage all Chapter Chairs to include maximum women on their Boards and Committees. The Women’s Wing we suggest be empowered to interact with other Chapters and help each other in every way possible. Women are the backbone of our organisation and I suggest they be encouraged to come forward for funding, scholarships and social projects. It is in our interest that women be made professionally independent and develop their proficiency in technology.
T4 – CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT AND MEMBERSHIP
Without Chapters and memberships one cannot progress. Suggest efforts be made to have new Chapters in each Region/Country. Same goes for Memberships. This can be done through social media, family members, friends and by invitation to WZCC programme as guest so they get attracted to become part of WZCC movement. Introduction of Membership Cards.
T5 – COMMUNICATION AND OUTREACH
Promote the WZCC brand both within and outside the Zarathushti community to ensure that the WZCC becomes recognized as a global brand. This includes creating, curating and maintaining the WZCC website. It is in our interest to take steps to project WZCC as a Chamber of Commerce. This can only be achieved by collaborating with other Chambers around the world. If necessary professional help should be taken towards achieving this goal.
MONITORING PROGRESS
At the International Board Meeting on October 9, 2022, the preceding Actions were accepted. Planning is good, but execution is extremely important for which we need committed people. Hence, I suggest that the next step towards creating a Strategic Plan for the WZCC is to devise a mechanism to monitor the actions to see that all the five thrusts are achieving their targets. Progress should be evaluated by monitoring measurable metrics. I suggest that we establish a Monitoring Committee. I solicit feedback on how this monitoring committee should be constituted and its responsibilities.
CONCLUSION
We will only be able to achieve our goal of maximizing the nexus between the creation of economic, social and intellectual values thereby fostering prosperity for all, improving the quality of life for people and safeguarding the planet if we follow the path of Asha with Industry Integrity. It is suggested that perhaps our WZCC chapters can collaborate with local Zarthusthi Anjumans and organisations thus creating good networking and memberships. It is further recommended that all the chapter chairs create leadership program and have a sound succession plan in place for the future generations to follow.
